TITEC - The tested odour barrier
In heating oil tanks made of plastic, it is essential to ensure that they are equipped with an effective barrier against the penetration of heating oil odour. Depending on the situation, there is otherwise a danger that an odour problem could arise for the entire building. ROTEX's answer to the problem of “unpleasant heating oil odour” is TITEC. TITEC (Tighting Technology) is a special process for manufacturing PE containers with an odour barrier. When the tanks are manufactured, several overlapping barrier layers are incorporated in the tank wall which counteract the diffusion of heating oil odour.
TITEC odour barrier – 3,000 times better
Extensive long-term measurements of the Frauenhofer Institute Verfahrenstechnik und Lebensmitteltechnologie (IVV) have concluded that TITEC allows up to 3,000 times less heating oil odour through than a PE tank without a barrier.
PROOFED BARRIER
In order to provide you with an objective guarantee of the effectiveness of the odour barrier used, leading manufacturers have joined together to found the quality association for heating oil tanks with odour barriers which is known as Qualitätsgemeinschaft geruchsgesperrte Heizöltanks e.V. (QgH). This awards the "PROOFED BARRIER" quality label after testing the respective odour barrier through the IVV. All ROTEX heating oil tanks with accessories are equipped with the TITEC odour barrier and were awarded the quality label "PROOFED BARRIER" after thorough testing by the QgH.
